People Magazine has named it’s 15 Sexiest Men Alive, and while I can’t say I agree with Johnny Depp’s top billing, Jerry O’Connell’s presence in the list certainly had my approval. Vegas Fuckfest 2009 may sound like a mix between a national sports competition and a sequel to Showgirls, but this ambitious debut release from On The Hunt is anything but. The first film to be presented by the same people that bring you the online portal of the same name uses gay networking Mecca ManHunt as a virtual casting couch, so to speak. The porn film with an unusual and market-savvy twist was filmed over a few nights in Vegas with a mix of MH members and real porn stars.
It’s by no means a muted debut, with performers such as Arpad Miklos, Jeremy Hall, Caesar and Trevor Knight among its ensemble of stars. Of course, the hook here is the appearance of members from the gay dating/hook-up site mixed in with them. So whether you’re looking for an amateur/reality element or straightforward porn with big names, OTH has ensured they’ve covered all their bases.
It’s a clever bit of marketing on their part – both for the sales of the film and the site in general – but that doesn’t mean that the content is necessarily going to be good. So I went into the film with a skeptical mind but some perked interest in how they were going to pull off the risky endeavor.
