Allow me to go highbrow for a moment and bring you a taste of what’s going on in the gay art scene. After all there is a thin line between art and porn.
I don’t usually get this over-the top over something that spends more time hiding meat than showing it, but if you missed all the fun with RuPaul last season, the girl is doing it again!
Don’t fret, everyone: It was announced today that RuPaul’s Drag Race has been renewed for a second season. Whew! The hit reality show, which just aired its season finale, will make its way back to LOGO in early 2010. It’s a long time to wait, but totally worth it, right?
Also, now is your chance to become more than just a spectator to all the glam and drama. Casting for the second season begins May 1. Go to RuPaulCasting.com for more information on taking your chance to win the title of No. 1 “lady who just happens to be a gentleman.” Work it, girls!

Which is all well and good, but it got me thinking about some of my favorite movies that like to play hide-and-seek.

Captured in Drag: Drag queens…those classic transvestites who can pass undetected in most social and many sexual situations. Real women envy them. Some prey upon them. The dominant mistress Olivia Outre punishes them because it excites her. Long known for her horrible techniques on women in her captivity, nothing can prepare the viewer for how she punishes those she’s CAPTURED IN DRAG…!

Drag Queen Boulevard: Cum watch these Lady-Boys perform just for you!

T-Girls Back In Town: Hot tranny action brought to you by Randy Detroit himself! They’re back in town, and ready for some hardcore action
Sigh…there are times that the pickin’s are so slim that having a favorite isn’t hard — the lesser of two evils? I’ll be down at the club tonight dropping dollars to some of my favorite divas in honor of this. See you there!

November for me means two things; I can bring out the sweater vests and I can officially start shopping for a sexy calendar! We have already seen some hot contenders and usually it’s down to the wire before I can commit to one but this year that’s not the case. Adorning my wall ‘08 will be none other than the BAD BEHAVIOUR 2008 calendar.
BAD BEHAVIOUR 2008 is a collection of fetish inspired images, celebrating the art of fantasy and the expression of alternative desires. These dark, erotic fantasies are created with great sensitivity and detail, making them captivating, beautiful and sexy.
Ross Brownsdon and Travis de Jonk have established themselves as two of Australia’s most successful photographers both commercially and artistically. They have had numerous exhibitions and contributed to leading publications, both locally and internationally. This is their first calendar and I gotta say damn it guys what took you so long
.
Below are a few of my very favorite images all of which can be found at BadBehaviourPublishing.com. There you can also find out more about these uber talented photographers and how you can get your hands on their sexy new calendar.

And what if, as soon as you found a new relationship, the lover that dumped you came storming back into your life again – and had an affair with your new lover?
Well for all of you who enjoy a good book here’s one you can’t miss. It’s the first novel from Award-winning BBC comedy writer Len Richmond. It’s a great story that I just know will have you glued to your seat.
Naked in Paradise, subtitled “The True Story of Three Men in Loveâ€, is a laugh out loud tale of a trio of erotic neurotics – a hard-drinking, aging heartthrob; a frustrated academic with sex on the brain; and an obsessive-compulsive, Jewish comedy writer.
In a debut that’s both funny and heart-wrenching, Richmond brings us a vibrant portrayal of a gay mid-life crisis that all readers, regardless of their age, can relate to.
Wise, erotic, and wickedly funny, this is queer life as you’ve never seen it before!
Len Richmond is an international comedy writer who’s created hit shows for the BBC and ITV in Britain, TF1 in France, and CBS in America. His groundbreaking comedy series, “Agonyâ€, was one of the most beloved British TV shows of its time, winning the “Best Situation Comedy in the World†award at the Banff International Television Festival.
He is co-editor of the critically-acclaimed “The Gay Liberation Book†(Ramparts Press), and wrote and directed the independent feature film. “A Dirty Little Business†starring Michael York.
Hey guys here’s a very exciting event for all of you in the San Francisco area. Famed fetish director and photographer Julie Simone is exhibiting her photos this weekend at the Femina Potens Art Gallery (2199 Market Street, 415-217-9340), featuring photos of gay porn star Cole Ryder.
Simone says, “I was having a lot of problems finding the right model, someone who matched the image in my head of what a leather daddy should look like. To me, leather daddies are the manliest of all men, they have muscles and hairy chests. It’s hard to find men with hairy chests in Los Angeles, which is a shame because I think they’re really sexy. I met Cole Ryder at an in-store signing and he was PERFECT!”
Ryder said of working with Simone, “In my past photo shoots I’m always represented as a hard, rough, sometimes mean leather daddy; it was really nice to be able to show a more gentle, human side of a leather man’s life.”
So all you art lovers and Cole Ryder fans don’t miss this event. Come out and show your support!

John Chilton is a successful advertising and room set photographer based in Yorkshire, England where he was born in 1951. Photography was never a hobby but a chosen career, as a teenager he learned his darkroom skills working for Leeds University in the Photographic Services Department. After a ten year spell spent working in two different large studios he decided to “go it alone”. For the past twenty years John has run his own studio specialising in large format photography connected with advertising and furniture room sets. His work regularly features in Sunday Supplements and Furniture Design Magazines.
This collection is a departure from his usual commissioned work and provided an interesting challenge to produce work on his own terms. Intrigued by the many forms of erotica and under the glare of the studio lights John has captured on film the mystery of light and shade to include images of men, women, couples and fetishism.
He hopes these erotic images will make it possible to explore new boundaries in a career chosen over thirty years ago.
And I hope you’ll enjoy a taste of his provacative work and for more about this talented artist, including purchasing info, please visit JohnChilton.com.

One of my favorite blogs to read, Beautiful, recently featured an interview with super talented photographer Justin Monroe. The two part interview gave great insight into this most talented photographer but what struck me the most was this set of pics with super hot gay porn star Erik Rhodes.
The pictures are a kinky feast for the eyes. I just love it when porn stars go all model and work it for the camera in a different way. This isn’t the first mainstream model shoot we’ve seen Erik do, it looks like our sexy little porn star is becoming quite the top model! Work it!

You guys know there are two things I can’t get enough of, love and comics so I just had to share this article on one of my favorite comics Young Bottoms in Love.
Thanks DNA Blog!
8-May-2007- Gay American comic artist Tim Fish has just released his third graphic novel compilation of gay romance comics, Young Bottoms In Love.
After being turned down by comic book publishers (“It’s too gay!â€) and then gay & lesbian publishers as well (“Gay men don’t read comic books!â€) Fish decided to publish himself on line to prove there was a market out there, and boy did it work out- winning critical acclaim and in the process establishing himself as a sought after artist and graphic designer.
Comic publisher Poison Press took notice and the graphic novels were soon born.
Fish’s other titles include Strugglers (about two gals and their best gay friend) and Cavalcade Of Boys, both mixing humour and romance from a gay perspective.
With Young Bottoms In Love, Fish took on the role of editor and invited other artists onboard to create an ongoing anthology with several separate stories running from issue to issue.
Styles vary from satire, slice-of-life, romantic, to just plain sexy.
Check it out!
